I previously purchased a B40 for my office. The convenience and selection of coffees immediately made it a favorite among co-workers and myself. Of course this meant that I wanted one for home. One problem with the B40 is the noise. Not bad for an office environment but unforgivable first thing in the morning at home. When the B30 was announced and promised to be quieter, that was just what the doctor ordered. This thing is VERY quiet in comparison. I only drink one cup in the morning prior to going to work so the lack of a reservoir is not an issue. If you want multiple cups 30 seconds apart this is not the machine for you. If you don't mind the extra step of dumping a cup of water in a hole and waiting 2 1/2 minutes after you press the brew button (if you own the B40 you were already doing this when you turned the power on) then this machine is great. Oh, and the small footprint means you can be very flexible in where you decide to put it. No major concessions in the countertop usage arena. Bottom line, quiet convenience in a small package makes this a winner.

I purchased this system from Costco for Christmas. On New Years day it stopped working. I unplugged the unit and after a couple of hours, it started working again. After about 5 more days, it did the same thing. Displaying "Not Ready" and kept shutting down. I emailed Keurig's customer service dept. but did not get a reply. I called their 866 number and waited on hold for about half an hour only to be told that they would not allow me to wait on hold any longer, so I had to wait 3 days for them to call me back. The technician told me to use a paper clip and make sure the top and bottom spouts were clear and we ran through several hot water cycles on different cup settings.

I don't know if this 'fixed' the problem because at that point it had been working again. The tech. said that the hot cocoa cups could clog the spouts (although I do run a hot water cycle after each hot cocoa cup is 'brewed'). She also said there may be a problem with the separate filter that allows me to use my own coffee as opposed to their K-Cups. After her call, I stopped using the hot cocoa and the separate filter and so far have not had any problems. Hopefully it was a clogged spout and not a faulty pump or something like that.

When the machine works, it's wonderful. Quick and easy and extremely convenient. Every family member can brew what ever kind of coffee they want and there's no wasted coffee pots. There's enough of a variety of K-Cups for my family. We are very happy with it and hope it doesn't keep breaking down. If you remove the bottom tray, a travel mug fits easily under the drip spout. The blue light looks nice in a dark kitchen too :) The on / off timer is convenient and saves some energy when the unit is not in use for hours at a time. Even from the off position, it doesn't take very long for the machine to be in "Ready" mode.

Overall, I am happy with the machine. If it didn't break down, I'd have given it 5 stars.

I tried to leave an honest review (like this one) on Keurig's site, but for some reason, they have not published it. They only seem to post positive reviews on their site.

I call this Keurig my dream machine. I absolutely love it and you will too if you purchase one. One of the things I like about this machine is that once you find the coffee you love (and I like the Donut Shop, Emeril's and Paul Newman brands) it will always make the most perfect cup of coffee. You know how when you brew a pot of coffee sometimes it's perfect, sometimes it's too weak, and other times it's too strong -- well the Keurig gives you a perfect cup of coffee every single time. It's amazing.

My husband only drinks decaf coffee and I only drink "real" coffee. In the past we would waste a lot of coffee because he would make a pot and drink a cup or two and I would throw out the rest of his coffee to make my pot of coffee and generally I only drink one cup in the morning and one in the afternoon so all the extra coffee in my pot would get thrown away as well. Waste, waste, waste. But not anymore. I can have a cup of "real" coffee whenever I want and my husband can have his decaf whenever he wants.

I also want to say that there are so many different flavors of coffee and brands to choose from as well as teas (both caffinated and decaf). Hint..don't get the hot chocolate because it sucks. I also didn't care for the vanilla flavored coffee because it was too weak.

Another thing I love about this machine is that it makes the coffee so fast and it comes out hot. All of my other coffee makers served up lukewarm coffee. The Keurig brews the perfect coffee at the perfect temperature every time. Of course if you add half a cup of milk or cream it will cool your coffee off but that's to be expected.

My last reason for recommending this coffee maker is that you don't have to order the coffee online all of the time. Sam's Club, Costco, and other retail stores sell it now at pretty good prices. You can buy a box of 80 at Sam's Club for $32. That's only $0.40 a cup of joe. And since this coffee is just as good as Starbuck's that's a real bargain.

I paid $184 for my Keurig B70/B77 on Amazon and I'm so happy with it but I just want to tell everyone that you can get the same machine at Sam's Club for $129. I wish I knew that before I purchased my machine but I'm still thrilled with it no matter what I paid for it.

After weeks of "studying" the Keurig coffeemaker choices and being spooked by the mixed reviews, I happened upon the commercial model, the OfficePro. Like the other reviewer, I found it at Staples for much less than listed here and less than the price of the other home models. Out of the box it didn't seem to work. There was a terrible deafening vibration and noise, and no water would transfer to the heating chamber for the priming process (the first and only step before being able to make coffee). I put it aside, annoyed, but decided to give it one more try before I packed it back up and returned it to Staples. For some reason it decided to work and it's been working flawlessly since.

My particular OfficePro came with a coffee sampler which was nice because once you have it out of the box, it's great to be able to make a cup of test coffee. The first cup of coffee I made smelled just like wonderful restaurant coffee and nothing like the stale bitter coffee I was making every day (and pouring out half of) in my gross coffee pot. Since then I've been trying all sorts of coffee and experimenting with sizes and even using the K cups more than once. If you brew a small cup, you can run one more small size cup through the K cup (a bold variety) without it being too watered down - yay, a money saver. The husband and I like lots of cream so the smaller size yield suits us just fine. The 8 oz size is plenty for our mugs. I saw some complaints where the water chamber is too small and has to be refilled all the time, but as we're not using this in an office setting, it's been absolutely no problem for us. Filling the water chamber is fast and easy. Initially I used tap water in the machine but have switched to bottled to ensure that it continues to work well. Aesthetically it looks really nice and tidy tucked back into a corner on our kitchen counter and the bonus is that I can refill the water and open and close the coffee pod without having to pull it out from under the overhead cabinets; there's plenty of clearance. It makes some vibration and noise when the water heats up but the noise is very temporary, maybe about 5 seconds.

So far we've had this about a week and it's fantastic with great tasting coffee and tea.

Like this product, but, wish the brewer made the larger cup size as the higher priced one. It is a good brewer though. Have had it for about a month or so. If you want the largest mug size, I advise to pay the extra money. I only use for a late
evening cup. I use my regular coffee maker for mornings. The K-Cups are pricy. You need to shop around for best price or use refillable Solofill. See my review on that.

If you're reading this review, you're most likely doing research and trying to decide between the Keurig line (B40,B50,B60), the Tassimo, or the Senseo. Out of those three, the Keurig is the best looking, the most durable, has the best heating and pumping mechanism, and has the largest variety of coffees and teas available. The Tassimo's versatility is tempting, but variety of coffees is lacking, the machine is a first-run model that does not feel as quality as the Keurig (I could barely find a piece of metal in the entire thing), and it cannot be set to warm itself up like the Keurig. The Senseo isn't bad and I may even consider getting it as a second machine, but it is kind of lame how you need two pods to brew an 8 oz cup of coffee. Considering the price of pods that I was looking at, it would outprice both the Keurig and the Tassimo for daily usage.

Between the Keurig models (B40,B50,B60), I spent a lot of time trying to decide and eventually went with the B60, mainly because the B60 is the only model that brews 3 different sizes of coffee--5.25, 7.25, and 9.25oz. The B50, a favorite amongst shoppers, does not offer the 9.25oz size. This large size allows my Oxo travel mug to almost completely fill after using one Extra Bold K-cup. As an added benefit of the B60, you get beautiful blue LEDs behind the display and the water tank, as well as a polished chrome handle and polished chrome outer-ring to the display. It looks very modern and very classy in my otherwise boring kitchen. Highly recommended.

My wife's Christmas present this year is a Keurig B70 coffee maker. We have a B100 at work that I was very impressed by and we decided that a home machine would nicely fill the need when we might want a cup or two, but might not want to make a full pot.

Long story short: we love the machine. So far, our favorite coffee is Timothy's Kona Blend -- but we haven't tried more than a handful of the scores of varieties of coffees and teas available for the beast. We got the extra filter for when we want to grind and use our own coffee in the machine, but have not yet had the opportunity to try it yet. It is a nice option to have.

We'll still use our Zojirushi thermal carafe brewer when we need a full pot, but the Keurig is wonderful for lesser amounts. Highly recommended.

I learned today that one of the coffee roasters that supplies the K-cups, Green Mountain, just bought Keurig (an American company with a Dutch name). I hope this won't limit the variety of coffees available for the machines -- that would be a major bummer if other roasters bowed out and would cause me to pull my glowing recommendation.

UPDATE 7/30/07: The B70 died today after 8 months of yeoman service. A call to Keurig revealed that the symptoms matched a "bad element" (one would assume heating element). A replacement machine in on its way (arrival in 3-4 days). Keurig doesn't want the old machine back, just a part. Keurig customer service was extremely pleasant and professional. Assuming the replacement machine arrives in good form, the five star rating is intact. I do wonder if there is a generic problem with heating elements in this model -- I'll have to look through the newer reviews to see if I should worry.

UPDATE 1/12/11: The replacement B70 is still going strong 3.5 years later. Still very happy with the unit.
